VB finishes runner-up at LaPorte Invite

The Slicer Volleyball team finished runner-up in the LaPorte Invite on Saturday. LP beat Concord (25-14, 15-25, 17-15), Highland (25-17, 25-12) and Hanover Central (25-18, 25-10) before falling to Franklin (25-12, 25-27, 15-7) in the championship. Offensively, Avery Tulacz led the Slicers with 24 kills, while Elizabeth Anglin added 21 and Kaitlin Wilson had 17. Lilly Buckley dished out a team-high 39 assists. Defensively, Emma Hull recorded 116 digs on the day with Tulacz tallying 70. Mia Mendoza contributed 36 digs and Anglin had 33 digs. Buckley chipped in with 24 digs. On the service line, Tulacz had six aces and Mendoza added five. At the net, Tessa Koepke had 13 blocks with Abbie DeLee and Madison Copeland recording seven each. Tulacz (6) and Wilson (5) added to the block total.
