Freshman vs Lake Central High School Things didn't go the way the Slicers wanted them to tonight at Kiwanis Field with a loss to the Indians. On offense Akins was able to rush for 70 hard fought yards. Hoover had a nice 20 yard catch to give the Slicers a 1st down late in the 3rd. McCelos made a nice catch at the end of the game for 40 yards bringing him to 68 total yards on the night. Crittendon had 1 catch for 7 yards. On defense the Slicers played hard all night but had a few plays and a few bounces that did not bounce their way. Chlupacek and Alva forced a fumble on the Indians 2 yardline which was recovered by Mansfield to give the Slicers a chance to climb back in in the 3rd quarter. The Slicers are now 2-3 on the season and look to rebound next week when they are on the road to take on the Pirates. Kickoff is @6 pm.
