The Slicers hosted the Portage Indians tonight and fell 96-80 in a pretty close meet. There were several events that were really close, but Portage prevailed in the end. The meet opened with a tie for first in the 200 Medley Relay. Cali Hatala (backstroke), Noor Hakim (breaststroke), Megan Zolvinski (butterfly), and Lily Siford (freestyle) tied Portage with a season best time. Isabel Barron won the 100 Freestyle. Cali Hatala won the 100 Backstroke. Grace Caviston won the 100 Breaststroke with a season best time of 1:14.66. LaPorte won the 200 Freestyle Relay with: Isabel Barron, Grace Caviston, Lily Siford and Megan Zolvinski. Shoutouts to Sarah Peterson, who broke the 7 minute barrier in the 500 Freestyle, and Katelyn Peterson, who had a season best time in the 200 Freestyle. Megan Zolvinski also had an outstanding 100 Butterfly to secure second place. The Slicers record falls to 6-3, and they host Jimtown and Marian on Saturday morning. Always proud. Go Slicers!
