By Brahim Hakim | Dec 17, 2024 8:46 PM

The Slicers Girls Swim team traveled to Lake Central High School tonight and lost to the Indians 129-54. Even with the one sided score, the Slicers had an excellent meet. There were a lot of personal best times and the effort by our girls was admirable. LaPorte opened the meet with a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay with a two second time drop off of their season best, going 2:00.97 with: Cali Hatala (backstroke), Noor Hakim (breaststroke), Megan Zolvinski (butterfly), and Lily Siford (freestyle). Isabel Barron, coming off of the stomach flu, dropped 3 seconds to finish second in the 200 Freestyle. Cali Hatala won the 200 Individual in a season best time. Megan Zolvinski won the 100 Butterfly, by also securing a season best time. Freshman Sarah Peterson continues to drop time in virtually every race she's had this season. She broke the 7 minute mark in the 500 Freestyle last week, and dropped 3 more seconds tonight. LaPorte finished the meet in second place in the 400 Freestyle Relay with another season best time, with: Isabel Barron, Katelyn Peterson, Cali Hatala and Noor Hakim. The Slicers host Highland on Thursday. It will be Senior Night for LP. The Slicers record falls to 8-4. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
