The Slicers Boys Swimming and Dive team hosted the Chesterton Trojans and won 117-68, for their first win against Chesterton in 33 years. After digging through old swim records and talking to Alumni, it was agreed that 1992 was the last time LaPorte topped Chesterton. LaPorte Butterflier Otto Wildhart's father Jason was on the team back then, and he confirmed the win from '92. LaPorte won almost every event except diving and the 200 Free Relay. Chesterton was down a couple of swimmers due to injury and illness, but they still swam a good meet. The Slicers were pumped up coming and and were anticipating a tight meet. We planned the meet out strategically to give us the best chance for a win, and it paid off. Winning for LaPorte were: 200 Medley Relay: Roman Garay (backstroke), Abbas Hakim (breaststroke), Otto Wildhart (butterfly), and Andrew Hayes (freestyle). Chaise Adrian won both the 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle in good fashion. Abbas Hakim won both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke. Otto Wildhart won both the 500 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Roman Garay won both the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. 400 Free Relay: Otto Wildhart, Chaise Adrian, Roman Garay and Abbas Hakim It was a great night all around for the Slicers. Shoutouts to Malachi Talbot, Hugo Luna, Milo Jimenez, James Quadlin, Chase Childers, Vijay Pillai and Karter Griffin, who all got PRs tonight. The Slicers record climbs to 12-2, and they travel to Crown Point next Tuesday. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
