The Slicer Gymnasts placed 4th at the Merrillville Invite on Saturday, Feb. 1. Merrillville was 1st 102.7, Lafayette Jefferson was 2nd 97.1, Hobart 3rd 91.25, LaPorte 4th 89.25, Fort Wayne Snider 5th 65.45, and Lowell 6th 62.65. Kate Doty placed on all events: 9th on vault 8.4, 10th on bars 7.65 (season high), 8th on beam 8.2, 1st on floor 9.1, and 5th all-around 33.35. Genny Witulski scored 7.8 on vault for 18th, 20th on bars 4.9, 10th on beam 8.1, 16th on floor 7.4 and 14th all-around 28.2. Jules Schadt was 20th on vault 7.75, 18th on bars 6.0 (season high), 18th on beam 7.15, 19th on floor 6.8, and 15th all-around 27.7. Evie Travis was sick and did not compete. The Slicers travel to Plymouth Tuesday, Feb. 4th for their next meet.
