The LaPorte Slicer Wrestling team earned 7th place out of 14 teams at the IHSAA Regional at Crown Point. In order for a wrestler to qualify for semi state, one must place in the top 4 in their weight class. Two Slicer wrestlers qualified for the IHSAA Semi State tournament this Saturday. Porter Ivankovig (35-8) earned a 4th place finish at the 132 weight class. Josh England (40-5) earned second place at the 138 weight class. Both Ivankovig and England will compete on Saturday February 15th at East Chicago at 9:00 am.
