Slicers win at Merrillville 62-55

The Boys Varsity basketball team won 62-55 on the road tonight at Merrillville in DAC play. The Slicers used a 14-0 run to start the second half to push their lead from 2 at the break to 16 in the third quarter. After the host Pirates made a run to cut the lead to 1, La Porte closed the game on a 6-0 run in the final minute. La Porte was led by Griffin Ott-Large with 23 points. Sawyer Tonagel had 15 points, knocking down 3/4 from beyond the arc. Nic Spence had a double-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds. The win improves the Slicers' record to 14-7 (3-3 DAC) on the season. With one game to play in the conference schedule, La Porte is currently tied for third place. The Slicers are back in action next Friday against Portage in Slicer Gym for the season's last home game.
