LaPorte Junior Varsity Slicers dropped to 0-2 on the season after losing to Chesterton 18-5 on a snowy afternoon. LaPorte improved their play from the opener, but couldn't silence the Chesterton bats. Kieanna Simpson started on the mound, and gave up 9 earned runs on 13 hits over three innings. Mia Johnson pitched the last inning, and gave up four runs on three hits. Slicer hitters were led by Paige White with three hits, Audrey Forney with two, and Kieanna Simpson, Mia Johnson, Brienna Johnson, Sophi Meredith and Abby Culp with one apiece. Simpson and Culp both had two RBI's.
