Bottom Of The Lineup Carries La Porte Varsity Slicers Past Michigan City The bottom of the lineup helped La Porte Varsity Slicers capture a 7-0 victory over Michigan City on Wednesday. Keli Hay, Logan Hay, and Bryce McShane combined for five of the team's nine hits in the victory. They scored four runs and drove in two. Cody Benedict struck out 10 batters on the day. The hurler also surrendered three hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking two. La Porte Varsity Slicers got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run. La Porte Varsity Slicers added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Hay singled, scoring one run, Gage Raymond singled, scoring one run, and Benedict doubled, scoring two runs.
