La Porte Slicers JV Defeats Michigan City Junior Varsity Wolves As Ethan Badger Drives In Four

Ethan Badger drove in four runs on two hits to lead La Porte Slicers JV past Michigan City Junior Varsity Wolves 21-2 on Wednesday. Badger singled in the second scoring three, singled in the first scoring one, and walked in the second scoring one. La Porte Slicers JV scored 11 runs in the second inning on the way to victory. Badger singled, scoring three runs, Jon Rinkel doubled, scoring one run, Carson Retseck induced Nolan Wilson to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Noah Combs drew a walk, scoring one run, Khalen Matzke drew a walk, scoring one run, Wes Kaiser drew a walk, scoring one run, Badger drew a walk, scoring one run, Rinkel drew a walk, scoring one run, and Xander Daley drew a walk, scoring one run. La Porte Slicers JV got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Matzke singled, scoring two runs, Kaiser drew a walk, scoring one run, Badger singled, scoring one run, Rinkel singled, scoring one run, and Wilson singled, scoring one run. La Porte Slicers JV added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Ian Mitchell walked, Carl Crittendon singled down the left field line, Rinkel grounded into a fielder's choice, and Lincoln Grohs doubled to center field, each scoring one run. Wilson earned the win for La Porte Slicers JV. The hurler allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Eli Combs appeared in relief for La Porte Slicers JV. La Porte Slicers JV tallied 16 hits in the game. Badger, James Morgan, Matzke, Rinkel, and Nate Moses each collected two hits for La Porte Slicers JV. Kaiser led La Porte Slicers JV with four walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 12 walks for the game. Luke Lambert stole three bases. La Porte Slicers JV ran wild on the base paths, collecting seven stolen bases for the game. La Porte Slicers JV turned one double play in the game. The Slicers are next in action Friday, May 2nd when they will head to New Prairie to take on the Cougars. First pitch is slated for 4:30 pm.
