LaPorte scored 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning, and cruised to a 17-2 win over visiting Merrillville. LaPorte had 14 hits on the night led by Ava Hedrick with three hits. Hollis Murphy, Abby Culp, Madelyn Allen and Mia Johnson added two hits each, and Audrey Forney and Sophi Meredith had one. Madelyn Allen pitched the first three innings allowing one hit, and Abby Culp pitched the last two innings also allowing one hit.
