LPTF Shows the Future is Still Bright With Top 3 Finish at JV DAC

In the final competition for athletes not competing in the postseason, the Slicers finished the season in style by winning several events and having numerous top 8 finishes at the JV DAC Meet in Valparaiso. Final scores of the meet was: Chesterton 141.5 Valparaiso 141 LaPorte 109 Crown Point 71 Merrillville 67.5 Lake Central 57 Portage 24 Michigan City 12 Individual event winners include Casey Cochran winning the shot put with a throw of 44-10.5, Isaiah Hurt winning the 110HH with a time of 16.43, a 1-2 finish in the 1600m run by Reagan Buchanan (4:46.97) and Caleb Rose (4:52.55), and the 4x800 relay team of Andrew McKie, Graden Clark, Luke Romine, and Evan Howes winning with a time of 8:51.13. Other highlights include a 2-3 finish from Ayden Hunt (43.68) and Isaiah Hurt (44.71) in the 300IH, Kieth Berrier finishing 4th in the long jump with a new personal best distance of 19-5.5, McKie's 5th place finish in the 400m with a new personal best time of 54.89, and Howes' 3rd place finish in the 800m (2:09.67). The success continued in the relays as the 4x100 relay of Isaiah Hurt, Wyatt Mazur, J'Myre Blash, and Monte Morgan finished 5th (46.70), and the 4x400 relay team of Blash, Hurt, Hunt, and McKie finished 2nd (3:41.69), and the relay team of Jackson Shreeg, Cai Lile, Zyaire Harmon, and Dalton Hines finished 4th (3:52.18).
