LPTF Sets 2 School & Conference Records In Route to 2nd Place Finish

Final Scores Chesterton 147 LAPORTE 117 Merrillville 107.5 Portage 66 Crown Point 63.5 Valparaiso 58 Lake Central 56 Michigan City 5 The Slicers held their own on the track, and the field on their way to a 2nd place team finish by winning 5 events outright, and establishing new school and conference records along the way at the DAC Conference Championships at Lake Central HS. Starting off the evening was a winning performance from Jack Miskowicz, Hunter Quadlin, Liam Lilly, and Landyn Hunt in the 4x800 Relay with a time of 8:12.66. Also winning their respective event was Tayshaun Williams in the 200 who bested his own CONFERENCE RECORD from last year with a time of 21.59 after finishing 2nd overall in the 100m dash with a time of 11.37. Landyn Hunt established a NEW SCHOOL RECORD in the 400m dash with a winning time of 48.94, which broke the previous record set by Willie Clay last season. Malachi Washington dominated the throws last night by winning the shot put with a toss of 51' 7" in the shot put, and earning a 3rd place finish in the discus with a throw of 142' 8". Finishing out the evening was the 4x400 relay team of Gavin Wilson, Hunt, Lilly, and Williams who broke a SCHOOL AND CONFERENCE RECORD in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:20.49 (which also happens to qualify them for National competitions)! The Slicers also had several other top performances throughout the night including: 110HH: Gavin Wilson-3rd-15.86 1600m: Hunter Quadlin-2nd-4:26.04 300IH: Gavin Wilson-2nd-39.08 NEW PERSONAL RECORD; Ayden Hunt-8th-42.16 NEW PERSONAL RECORD 800m: Liam Lilly-2nd-1:58.78 3200m: Jack Miskowicz-2nd-9:47.01; Hunter Quadlin-5th-10:01.78 Long Jump: Destin Matzke-6th-21' 5.75" High Jump: Destin Matzke-6th-6' 2" Shot Put: Lucas DelRio-6th-47' .25" Full results can be found at: https://indiana.tfrrs.org/results/90794/2025_DAC_Championships_Boys These performances culminated in the best overall DAC Track & Field finish in Conference Meet History, and secured an overall 2nd place team finish on the season after a 5-2 DAC dual meet season record!
