Gage Raymond Leads La Porte Varsity Slicers Past Lowell By GameChanger Media Gage Raymond collected four hits in five at bats, as La Porte Varsity Slicers defeated Lowell 8-2 on Saturday. Raymond doubled in the seventh inning, doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning. La Porte Varsity Slicers opened the scoring in the first after Keegan Ramos grounded out, scoring two runs. A single by Cody Benedict put La Porte Varsity Slicers on the board in the top of the first. Gavin Gutierrez homered to right field on a full count, which helped Lowell tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. La Porte Varsity Slicers captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the third after Rusboldt singled to left field, and Benedict grounded out, each scoring one run. La Porte Varsity Slicers added five more runs in the top of the sixth inning on three hits. Rusboldt hit a grand slam to center field, and Reed Raymond doubled, scoring one run.
