Girls Flag Football is almost underway! As an IHSAA emerging sport this year, Girls Flag Football is taking the necessary steps to become an official IHSAA sport in a couple of years. La Porte High School will be offering a team this fall, led by Slicer Teacher Jeremy Ruff. Coach Ruff has spent the past few weeks working with some of our girl student-athletes to get this program going. The first official practice is Monday, August 4th. A flyer with the first week's schedule is attached to this post. The Slicers have (almost) a full schedule, with 7 games currently scheduled. All of their home games will be played on the Kesling Football Field. Week 1: No Game Week 2: Thursday 8/28 - at Michigan City (5:30 pm), vs. Valparaiso (8:00 pm at MC) Week 3: Thursday 9/4 - vs. 21st Century (6:00 pm) Week 4: Tuesday, 9/9 - vs. Chesterton (6:00 pm) Week 5: Monday, 9/15 - vs. New Prairie (6:00 pm) Week 6: Tuesday, 9/23 - at Munster (7:00 pm) Week 7: Tuesday, 9/30 - vs. Crown Point (6:00 pm) Week 8: No Game The unofficial tourney begins on Saturday, 10/11 (Time and Location TBD).
