The Scottsburg Warriorettes faced a tough challenge Monday afternoon, falling 58–32 to the Batesville Bulldogs in a non-conference matchup played on December 29. Batesville jumped out quickly and established control early, using strong perimeter shooting and defensive pressure to build a commanding lead. The Bulldogs opened the game on a scoring run and never looked back, holding Scottsburg scoreless from beyond the arc while forcing turnovers that led to easy transition opportunities. Despite the final score, the Warriorettes showed resilience on the defensive end, recording 11 steals and 33 rebounds, including a strong rebounding effort from KK Grogan, who finished with 13 rebounds and 11 points to lead Scottsburg. Anissah Eldridge also contributed offensively, scoring 9 points and going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Scottsburg found most of its success inside, matching Batesville with 20 points in the paint, and the Warriorettes’ bench provided a spark with 21 bench points. Defensively, Scottsburg battled throughout, forcing 14 Batesville turnovers and contesting shots in the lane. Batesville was led by a balanced scoring attack and shot 50% from the field, including nine three-pointers, which proved to be the difference. The Bulldogs’ ability to stretch the floor made it difficult for Scottsburg to cut into the deficit. The Warriorettes will face Madison Consolidated at 12:45pm on Tuesday during Day 2 of the Cheatham Classic.
