Warriors Dominate Owen Valley to Advance to Clay City Classic Championship

The Scottsburg Warriors put together a complete performance on both ends of the floor to earn a convincing 65–36 victory over Owen Valley in the Clay City Classic on Monday night. Scottsburg set the tone early, jumping out to an 18–7 first-quarter lead and never looking back. The Warriors’ defensive pressure and ball movement created scoring opportunities throughout the game, as they extended the margin to 30–16 at halftime before pulling away in the second half. A strong fourth quarter sealed the win, with Scottsburg outscoring Owen Valley 22–11 in the final period to close out the contest. Offensively, the Warriors were led by Braden Cox, who finished with a game-high 16 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Jaxon Owens and Jarin Luttrell added 9 points apiece, while Garrett Boling, Caiden Boswell, and Bennett Pearcy each chipped in 7 points. Scottsburg shot 44.1% from the field and connected on 10 three-pointers, while also forcing 16 Owen Valley turnovers, leading to 21 points off turnovers. The Warriors controlled the paint and the glass, finishing with 30 points in the paint and 13 offensive rebounds.
