Warriors Fall at New Albany

The Scottsburg Warriors varsity boys basketball team dropped a road contest at New Albany on Friday night, falling 83–45 on January 17. Quarter-by-Quarter Scoring New Albany took control early and maintained the advantage throughout the game. 1st Quarter: NAHS 23, SHS 7 Halftime: NAHS 55, SHS 26 3rd Quarter: NAHS 70, SHS 37 Final: NAHS 83, SHS 45 Scottsburg shot 32.6 percent from the field and 27.6 percent from three-point range, while New Albany connected on 59.3 percent of its shots. The Bulldogs also held the advantage in transition scoring and points in the paint, creating early separation. Individual Scoring – Scottsburg Garrett Boling – 12 Jarin Luttrell – 11 Kameron Reed – 3 Braden Cox – 4 Braelyn Kleehammer – 4 Caleb Salas – 2 Aiden Cornelius – 2 Jaxon Owens – 2 Bennett Pearcy – 2 Individual Scoring – New Albany Braxton Mayfield – 19 Vincent Baker – 16 Noah Washington – 9 Xavier Harvey – 8 Ashton McKee – 8 Karson Stoudemire – 10 Reece McKee – 9 Tanner Garmon – 3 Corbin Crone – 4 Scottsburg recorded 9 assists and forced 14 turnovers but was unable to overcome New Albany’s efficiency on the offensive end. The Warriors will look to regroup as they prepare for their next contest.
