Scottsburg Claims MSC Runner-Up Finish at Westwood

The Scottsburg Warrior boys golf team turned in an outstanding performance Thursday at the Mid-Southern Conference Tournament, finishing as tournament runner-up at Westwood Golf Course with a team score of 158. The Warriors tied Charlestown for second place but claimed the runner-up position by tiebreaker behind conference champion Corydon Central, which posted a winning score of 153. Scottsburg was led by a trio of All-Mid-Southern Conference performers. Senior Nick Consley and junior Jace Luttrell each fired rounds of 38 to earn All-Conference honors, tying for fifth place individually. Teammate Paxton Copple also earned All-Conference recognition with a score of 40, good for ninth place overall. Lucas Miller narrowly missed the All-Conference team and earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors after shooting a 42. Miller's round helped solidify the Warriors' strong team finish in a highly competitive conference field. Maddix Melker rounded out the Scottsburg lineup with a score of 45 as the Warriors placed four golfers among the conference's top performers. The runner-up finish continues a successful season for the Warriors and showcased the depth and consistency of the Scottsburg lineup.
