Dylan Roberts collected three hits in three at bats as Scottsburg defeated Charlestown 11-1 on Thursday. Roberts doubled in the first inning, singled in the fifth inning and singled in the third inning. The Warriors got on the board in the first inning after Roberts doubled, scoring two runs. The Warriors added one run in the third. Carter Gricius singles, making the score 3-0. Scottsburg scored five runs on fourt hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Gricius singled, scoring one run, Cale Barger drew a walk, scoring one run. Braden Cox singled, scoring one run, and Tucker Doriot singled, scoring one run. Peyton Sebastian earned the win for the Warriors. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Noah Tilton took the loss for Charlestown going two and one-third innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out five and walking one. The Warriors piled up 13 hits in the game. Gricius and Roberts were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Scottsburg while hitting back-to-back. Barger and Cox each collected multiple hits for the Warriors. Boomer Hester went 1 for 2 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with one run batted in. Next up for Scottsburg is a game at Paoli today at 5:30 pm!
