The Scottsburg Warriors defeated Madison 10-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning. Garrett McClellan singled, scoring one run, Tanner Best singled, scoring one run, Cale Barger was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Peyton Sebastian singled, scoring two runs, and Brentley Spaw singled, scoring one run. A solo home run to center field by Carter Gricius put Scottsburg on the board in the bottom of the second. Scottsburg scored two runs in the bottom of the third on a home run to right field by Brandt Kendall. Sebastian earned the win for the Warriors. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Matt McCarty took the loss for the Cubs. The righty when four and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking one. Scottsburg amassed 11 hits in the game. McClellan and Spaw each collected two hits for Scottsburg. Sebastian and Kendall each drove in two runs fo the Warriors. Scottsburg turned one double play in the game. Bode Heckler led Madison with two hits in two at bats. Next up for the Warriors is a game against Eastern on Thursday!
