Scottsburg defeated Austin 5-0 on Friday after the game was suspended due to weather on April 15th The Warriors were the first to get on the board in the first when Garret McClellan singled scoring one run. Scottsburg added two more runs in the top of the sixth inning on four hits. Tanner Best hit a solo home run to left field, and Furnish induced Peyton Sebastian to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Brentley Spaw earned the win for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking five. Furnish took the loss for Austin. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up three runs on eight hits, striking out seven and walking one. McClellan collected the save. Scottsburg collected 10 hits in the game. Spaw led the Warriors with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. McClellan, Best, Carter Gricius, Sebastian, and Brandt Kendall each drove in one run for Scottsburg. The Warriors turned one double play in the game. Scottsburg was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Gricius made the most plays with 10. Lamaster went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Austin in hits. Austin had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Swank and Furnish led the team with two free passes each. Austin was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Wiggins made the most plays with seven. Next up for the Warriors is a Varsity/JV doubleheader on Saturday at home against Springs Valley.
