The Warriors easily dispatched of Spring Valley on Saturday 9-1. Scottsburg opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles. Scottsburg first got on the board when Carter Gricius singled, scoring one run. The Warriors added one run in the second after Brandt Kendall singled. Peyton Sebastian earned the win for Scottsburg. The righty allowed three hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one. Maverick Land took the loss for Springs Valley. The starting pitcher went four innings, giving up eight runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking three. Kendall appeared in relief for Scottsburg. The Warriors tallied 10 hits in the game. Sebastian led Scottsburg with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Dylan Roberts, Cale Barger, and Kendall each collected two hits for Scottsburg. The Warriors were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Roberts made the most plays with 10. Cole Kovas, Noah Allstott, and Blake Buchanan each collected one hit for Springs Valley. Kovas led the Blackhawks with one run batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Scottsburg will travel to Corydon Centrral for their next game on Monday.
