Brandt Kendall’s Clutch Hitting Propels Scottsburg Varsity Warriors To Victory Over Jennings County Varsity Panthers By GameChanger Media Brandt Kendall drove in four runs on one hit to lead Scottsburg Varsity Warriors past Jennings County Varsity Panthers 6-4 on Friday. In the seventh inning, Kendall homered to right field, scoring three runs. A ground out by Kendall put Scottsburg Varsity Warriors on the board in the top of the first. Kyle Byram singled to the left side of the infield, which helped Jennings County Varsity Panthers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. Jennings County Varsity Panthers captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fourth after Carter Hudson was struck by a pitch, and Zane Weinhorst was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors jumped into the lead in the top of the seventh when Aiden Lamaster doubled, scoring one run, and Kendall homered to right field, scoring three runs. Ty Roberts earned the win for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors. The reliever surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking none. Cole Skinner took the loss for Jennings County Varsity Panthers. The reliever went one inning, surrendering three runs on two hits, striking out one and walking none. Kendall began the game for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors. The starter allowed seven hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three. Landon Pike started the game for Jennings County Varsity Panthers. The hurler allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out one and walking one. Hayden Thomas tossed one and one-third innings of scoreless ball for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors in relief. The hurler gave up zero hits, striking out none and walking none. Leadoff hitter Braden Cox led Scottsburg Varsity Warriors with two hits in four at bats. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors turned one double play in the game.
