Scottsburg Cross Country Turns in Strong Effort at Rick Weinheimer Invitational

The Scottsburg Cross Country teams competed yesterday at Columbus North’s Rick Weinheimer Invitational, turning in several impressive performances against a deep field of competition. In the boys’ race, Kameron Reed led the Warriors with a time of 17:46, earning 31st place overall. Gavin Curley followed with a solid run of 19:37. On the girls’ side, the Warriorettes packed tightly together with strong finishes. Addison Elliott crossed first for Scottsburg in 24:22, just steps ahead of Brooklyn Moon in 24:25. Addison Eldridge (25:43) and Briley Bary (25:45) rounded out the top efforts with only two seconds separating the pair. The highlight of the day came in the middle school race, where Mattie Pearcy delivered a breakout performance, shattering her personal best with a blazing 10:39. Pearcy’s effort placed her 4th overall, an outstanding achievement on a big stage.
