The Scottsburg Invitational brought together a strong field of cross country teams on Saturday, with Milan senior Gabriel Riehle claiming the individual title in 16:45. The top five was rounded out by Wesley Tirey (Bloomington Bobcats, 17:18), Lucas Cooney (Milan, 17:21), Rafe Wells (Salem, 17:34), and David James (Bloomington Bobcats, 17:50). For Scottsburg, junior Kameron Reed turned in a strong performance, finishing 14th overall with a time of 18:42. Sophomore Gavin Curley also represented the Warriors well, placing 29th in 20:02. On the team side, Austin High School edged the Bloomington Bobcats to earn the team championship with 65 points. Salem took third, while Switzerland County and Milan rounded out the top five. The Warriors will look to build on these efforts as the season continues, with Reed and Curley pacing the team against tough competition.
